Continued Prayers for Jenny

Dear Church Family,

Our beloved Jenny, affectionately known as Miss V or Coach Jenny, suffered an intracerebral hemorrhagic stroke last Friday, February 23, 2024. As we rally around her and her family during this challenging time, we ask for your fervent prayers for her complete recovery.

A CaringBridge page has been set up to provide updates on Jenny's condition and to serve as a central hub for support and encouragement. You can visit the page here: https://www.caringbridge.org/public/jennyvanderpool.
Latest Update:

Update from April 13, 2024:
Max shares positive updates on Jen's recovery journey following her stroke. After more than a week in a wheelchair-accessible condo, they have returned home, where Jen is now able to manage stairs and use their adapted bathroom. She continues to gain strength and mobility in her right hand, engaging in personalized occupational therapy activities developed by Max. Jen's experience as a kindergarten teacher has proved invaluable, as activities she used with her students are aiding her recovery at home. Despite exhaustion, they are grateful to be back, finding daily tasks more manageable. Looking ahead, Jen remains determined to regain mobility and hopes to return to teaching in the fall.

Let us lift Jenny and her family with unwavering faith and hope, trusting in God's continued favor and healing.
With love and gratitude,
Church Elders

Welcome

Generations was launched in 2004 “so each generation can set its hope anew on God" (Ps 78:7a). We work diligently to partner with families. And we try to give people who have given up on God and church good reason to find their way back (Luke 15). From 2004-2019, we operated as a “portable church” renting out a school and then a golf-course clubhouse. In the fall of 2019, we moved into the shopping plaza adjacent to Kroger.

We see ourselves primarily as a family or community, not as an event or business. We do our best, with God’s help, to follow Jesus Christ. And we’ve discovered first-hand that God really is gracious, giving people something they don’t deserve: life, hope and a second chance.

INVESTING IN OUR Community

Members of the Generations family serve in a variety of places OUTSIDE our congregational life, places like the Jessamine County Food Pantry, CASA, our local schools, the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition, and more. We encourage people to actively work for "the good of the city" (Jeremiah 29:7).
