Community Groups
We believe that
frienships and "connection" is one of the biggest problems facing
the church today...and we admit that we don't have all the answers. But we
are very purposeful to do everything we can to help foster what the Bible
calls "community." Since we don’t
believe it’s really possible to enjoy meaningful relationships with
other people just by coming to worship on Sunday mornings, we encourage people
to purposefully develop relationships "during the week." That’s,
in part, why we have community groups.
At Generations, community groups are small groups of 6-8 individuals or 5-6
married couples who meet in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible study,
prayer and accountability. They are typically "closed groups" that
meet together for 12-24 months.
Really, community groups are just predictable environments where people can
experience community and growth. We want somebody to look back on their community
group experience and be able to say, “I’ve made some good friends,”
and “I feel like I’ve really grown.”
