Students
We spent 9 months talking out what's worked and what hasn't worked in traditionally structured "youth groups." That's because we know that 8 out of 10 church-attending high school students will stop attending church once they go to college or move away from home.
Of the 2 out of 10 who remain in church after going to college or moving away from home, they share one common experience: involvement in ministry while in middle school or high school. We believe most middle and high school students yearn to discover how they have been made (hard-wired by God) and how they fit into the larger whole. At Generations, we work hard to find ways that tweens and teens can "give back" and serve in meaningful ways...because we know this will help "cement" God and church for them.
We are employing a 5-3-1 approach to student ministry. We ask an adult to commit (relationally) to 5 teens, significantly investing in 3 of them and helping 1 of them learn to lead. For current activities and/or gatherings, contact the church office.
